Hybrid Tanning: A More Intentional Glow

At Golden Hour Wellness, we believe tanning should feel thoughtful — not rushed, not extreme, and not one-size-fits-all.

That’s why we chose hybrid technology.

Hybrid tanning combines UV light with red light therapy to create a more balanced tanning experience — one that focuses not just on color, but on overall skin appearance.

Let’s walk through what that means.

What Is a Hybrid Tanning Bed?

A Hybrid Tanning Bed combines:

• UV light
• Red light therapy

Traditional tanning relies on UV light alone. Hybrid beds integrate visible red light into the same session to support the skin while you build color.

It’s tanning with an added layer of intention.

How UV Light Contributes to a Tan

UV light stimulates melanocytes — the cells responsible for producing melanin.

Melanin is the pigment that gives skin its color. When exposed to UV light, your skin increases melanin production, and over time, that results in a darker tone.

Our hybrid beds lean more UVB-balanced compared to some traditional systems. UVB wavelengths are associated with signaling melanin production, which is part of how a tan develops.

Because of this balance, many clients feel they’re able to build color efficiently and develop a natural-looking base over time.

As always, results vary by skin type, consistency, and proper session spacing.

Where Red Light Comes In

Red light therapy works differently than UV.

Rather than affecting pigment, red light operates at a different wavelength and is commonly used in wellness settings to support:

• The appearance of skin texture
• Circulation
• Overall skin vitality
• The look of fine lines

When paired with UV in a hybrid system, the goal is to support the skin’s overall appearance while color develops.

Many clients say their skin feels smoother or looks more radiant with consistent hybrid sessions.

Why Clients Choose Hybrid

People often choose hybrid beds because they appreciate:

• A more balanced tanning experience
• The appearance of smoother, more even-looking skin
• A relaxing, warm session environment
• Building color gradually and intentionally

It’s less about rushing to dark and more about creating a glow that feels natural.

What to Expect During a Session

Hybrid sessions typically range from 10–15 minutes depending on your skin type and tanning goals.

Before your session, our team reviews:

• Your skin type
• Timing recommendations
• Proper spacing between visits
• Lotion options to support hydration

Protective eyewear is required.

During your session, you’ll notice both UV and visible red light. The experience feels warm and relaxing.

Afterward, mild pinkness can occur and typically subsides. Color continues developing over the next 24–48 hours.

Hydration and moisturization help support skin appearance and extend your results.

Our Approach at Golden Hour Wellness

We aim to create a space that feels clean, calm, and welcoming.

We encourage responsible session timing, proper spacing, and skincare support. Tanning — like any form of UV exposure — should be approached thoughtfully and in moderation.

Hybrid technology allows us to offer an experience that blends color development with added skin-appearance support.

It’s not about extremes.
It’s about balance.

Sunshine — done intentionally.

This is Golden Hour Wellness.
